Z is for Zoo

Welcome to my Blogging from A to Z April Challenge for 2019! The A to Z Challenge is a blogging event held each April. Bloggers create posts from A to Z beginning on April 1st and ending on April 30th. There is a post scheduled for each day of the month (except for Sundays) with each day corresponding to a sequential letter of the alphabet.

It's the last day of the A to Z Challenge!! Can you believe it?! We've made it all the way from A to Y and now we're adding the last piece of the puzzle. Today is letter Z and Z is for Zoo.

Now...I know what some of you are thinking. Hey lady...you did animals back on Q is for Quack...what are you up to? Well...I have another animal activity and this one combines a few of the toddler ideas that we've been talking about. It's time for a bath...an animal bath!

This is an example of how one activity will morph into another at the whim of your toddler.

We've already established how much this kid loves water. Well...we've also got a love for bubbles and a need to work on some mouth muscles to improve his speech. So...I grabbed a large bowl, filled it part way with water, and added a drop of dish soap. I snagged a few drinking straws from the cupboard and figured we'd do some bubble blowing.

Well...the kid indulged me for about 3 minutes before he simply started splashing in the water. Bubble time was clearly done. But...we'd been playing with his zoo animals earlier in the morning. So, I grabbed the bag and we were off to the races.

He loved dunking them one by one in the slightly soapy water, then lifting a few out, then putting them back in.

The game was so much fun, that even little brother had to join in. (Look! The Baby is making an appearance for the end of A to Z!)

We splashed and scrubbed and soaked and dried animals for nearly an hour. Once again, the simple things never fail to disappoint. We may not have worked on things the way I'd planned, but we still had a dang good time.

Thanks for joining me on my journey from A to Z this year! I'm a little shocked at how quickly the month flew by. I'm incredibly glad I decided to join in again this year and I hope you all found something to enjoy along the way as well.
