D is for Dot

Welcome to my Blogging from A to Z April Challenge for 2019! The A to Z Challenge is a blogging event held each April. Bloggers create posts from A to Z beginning on April 1st and ending on April 30th. There is a post scheduled for each day of the month (except for Sundays) with each day corresponding to a sequential letter of the alphabet.

I'm keeping this year focused on toddler activities. More specifically, I'm keeping it limited to indoor activities. We live in northern Minnesota, where the winters are long and cold, so a variety of indoor play is a must. It's not too hard to go stir crazy when you're cooped up inside for months at a time!

Today's letter is D. D is for Dot...Dot Stickers. Well...I'm including all stickers, really.

This type of play is variable with my kiddo. He can be totally in love with the stickers and want to play with them for a long time or he can totally do without. Play tends to extend a little further if I combine stickers and coloring.

Stickers can just be given freely with a blank sheet of paper or you can turn them into learning experiences. Use dots to trace a shape, to learn patterns, to learn letter shapes or quantities.

Draw a few colored circles on a blank sheet of paper and it becomes a different game. They can match colors. The kiddo really likes the stickers with faces on them. I've seen ones with different emotions. Create other matching games to teach various concepts. There's always a new activity available to mix it up! Plus...it doesn't hurt that they're an inexpensive means of entertainment!

Are you an A to Z Blogger too? Leave me a comment so I can repay the visit.
