Hi. Remember me? I sometimes blog here. I blinked and a month went by.
I've gotten into a terrible slump lately, but I'm staging a comeback. I've missed the blogging world and I very much need to get my words back out there. So...I'm starting my reemergence the best way I know how...with a read-a-thon. And not just any read-a-thon...DEWEY'S. Yay!
I've participated in Dewey's 24-hour Read-a-Thon for a couple of years now (this is number four for me) and I love it. For those of you not familiar, Dewey's is a 24-hour read-a-thon that happens every April and October and is a total freaking blast.
This one starts on Saturday, October 17th (this Saturday). We all start at the same time (find your start time based on time zone here) and then read together for 24 hours straight. There are over a thousand participants and we take social media by storm.
As for me, I post updates here about every 6 hours, swing in for a little Twitter chat time, and do a bit of Instagramming along the way. It's a great time. I'll be starting with the Mountain Time Zone crowd at 6am on Saturday morning and trying to keep myself going steady until 6am on Sunday. Last time I crapped out at about 3am. It was a sad moment.
I'm debating whether to put the tent up. I'm not sure I have the ambition to do it for only a 24-hour stint. But if I can convince the boys in this house to help me out and maybe-kind of-sort of surprise me with an already set up tent...well...I wouldn't complain.
I do have a bit of homework to do this weekend, but luckily it should be a lighter load than the past two weeks have been. So...I'm hoping to stay pretty well devoted. There will be no solid plan -- I'm going to be a fly-by-er again this time around. The only rule is to read books that I'm enjoying and set aside something if it doesn't click. That should not be a problem. I have some great ARCs on deck, along with Jenny's book. Yay! (If you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm talking about Jenny Lawson, the Bloggess -- do yourself a favor and go get to know her.)
Now...I'm going to go catch up on some blog reading (which has also been neglected for the last month) and I will be back here by no later than Saturday at 6am MST with the zero hour post for Dewey's.
Let the blogging recommence!
P.S. For those wondering...yes...the pumpkin plans are being discussed. I am currently waiting to hear back from a potential pumpkin supplier for the year. More details to come as they are available, but there will be yet another fun-filled display this year!
