Today is the day! It's time for the A to Z Challenge Great and Powerful Theme Reveal. It's the day to share themes for the A-to-Z Challenge for 2015! I'm really excited to get this challenge underway! (As is evidenced by my gratuitous use of exclamation points.)
There are over 1,100 bloggers signed up to participate this year. Incredible.
This will be my second year participating and I look forward to taking things I learned from last year's experience to make this year's journey even better.
The A to Z Challenge is a blogging event held each April. Bloggers create posts from A to Z beginning on April 1st and ending on April 30th. There is a post scheduled for each day of the month, except for Sundays, with each day corresponding to a sequential letter of the alphabet. It's definitely a challenge and it's a lot of fun.
There are bloggers from all over the world blogging about hundreds of different things. There are craft bloggers, book bloggers, social bloggers, history bloggers. You name it, there's a blog for it. It's quite the social event. Last year, I found at least twenty new blogs to follow regularly thanks to my experiences reading their posts for A to Z.
As for my posts, last year I more or less set the trend for myself. The theme was projects...nothing terribly creative given the name of my blog, but it forced me to organize myself and get something out there every day.
I created quite a few projects and had a great time doing it. (You can see all of last year's project posts here.)
This year, I'm continuing the trend. The theme will remain centered on craft projects. I made a pile of new items this past year, many with the plan to use specifically for the A to Z. The list is all drawn up, with the exception of X, Y, and Z. Those letters will get assigned to projects this week. I also still have a small handful of projects that need creating in the next couple of weeks.
I have quite the assortment of crafts ready to share. There are a lot of sewing projects, but there's also some painting, and a couple of new craft skills that I've learned since the last A to Z. Best of all, the skill levels stay pretty manageable for most, so you should be able to duplicate what I've done fairly easily if you so desire.
I'm looking forward to sharing my posts with you! I'm also looking forward to meeting up with a new pile of bloggers. With over 1,100 to choose from, I definitely won't be bored!
The challenge begins on April 1st. Are you joining in? Sign-ups are still open over at A to Z!
Hi Elle
ReplyDeleteI've been randomly blog hopping through the theme reveal posts and given your blog title had to pop in to see what it was all about!
Will have to pop back in April to see what you come up with, it's my 2nd year too but you sound far more organised! :) I like exclamation marks too!

Q, X, and Z are giving me a fit. Like Mars, I'm popping around the list, and I remember you from last year. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your craft projects. I love seeing how talented people create things. My sister is into crochet and I am always astounded when she just hands me things that she knocked up in an evening :). I'm more of a painter myself, although these days most of my work is done digitally. Good luck with your final three letters.

Wow, you really have crafting projects for each letter of the alphabet? Busy lady! I can't wait to see this :)

Yay! Glad you guys are participating again. It should be a fun month!
ReplyDeleteI do! Some are easier than others. I have a couple favorites in the mix though...don't miss P and S! :)
ReplyDeleteI really need to learn how to crochet. I've been talking about it for like three years, but I never seem to sit down and really commit to it.
ReplyDeleteI do a flip through the dictionary for the tough letters. I get lucky with "Q", but X, Y and Z have been a pain both years so far.
ReplyDeleteI may have you fooled with the guise of organization. We'll see how it all pans out... Good luck with your A to Z! I'll be visiting!
ReplyDeleteThanks Steph! Hopefully I get myself cleaned up around here!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri! It will be a busy week, but I'm hoping to feel accomplished by the end of it.
ReplyDeleteOf course! I'm glad you're doing the read-a-thon. I totally needed the push. I think I'm going to have to bail temporarily on my current book to give me a fresh start. Hopefully that will get me out of this awful rut.
ReplyDeleteI am SO SLOW at getting to replies this time! I loved Madeleine L'Engle all through middle school. I think she will always be one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lauren!! I'll have to go see what you picked...maybe I can snag a few new ones for my TBR.
ReplyDeleteOne of my friends recommended that once. I'll have to check into it. Thanks Laura!
ReplyDeleteGah. It was a ridiculous week. I think I'm finally recovering. You should read Allegiant if you've read either of the other books in the series, but I'm pretty sure it will tick you off too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll have to check out what strikes your fancy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle! Mara Dyer was a bit of an odd one in the beginning, but I stuck it out and now I'm really excited to read the rest of the series.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Wishing you a happy and productive Bloggiesta and Spring Break!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute creative theme you have! Good luck with it!
ReplyDeletebetty
You have a very ambitious Bloggiesta list on top of all the other things you're doing this week. Remember it's your Spring Break and have an adult beverage (if you like them) while you read. One of my goals is to visit as many participants as possible, and find new blogs to follow.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I always mean to sign up for the A to Z challenge but never remember until there are, like, over 1000 participants already :) Good luck in accomplishing your goals this week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! As long as I get myself organized, all should be well. Fingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteGood theme, no wonder you stuck with it. Lot's of folks into crafts out there.

YAY! This sounds like such a fun event. I can't wait to see the awesome things you created. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really fun. You should join and do bookish stuff! You're good at it.
ReplyDeleteIt really is fun. I got a little smarter this year though and went with things that are a little more simple to make.
