Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-Thon : Tuesday Update

I think I've finally recovered from Saturday/Sunday's 24 hour read-a-thon. I had a total reading hangover and did absolutely no reading yesterday. I contemplated it, but then watched videos on YouTube instead. If I didn't hate myself on video so much, I'd totally consider being a vlogger. Just a tiny little hiccup.

So today I'm back on the reading bandwagon. Yes...there will be reading. I'll be splitting my time between that and pumpkin preparations for the next six days. Oy. Only 10 days (well...9...) until the big event. I think my annual Halloween ulcer has started to form.

Because I will be buried in all things pumpkin, my reading for the rest of the read-a-thon will be limited to the couple of hours before bed each night. Tonight I gave myself the night off since I spent the morning at a local produce stand picking out the rest of the carvers.

How many pumpkins fill a full-size truck bed? Thirty. You're welcome for that fantastic bit of knowledge.
Tomorrow I'll be assigning each pumpkin to a specific carving/part of a character. Sometime before Friday, we'll be picking up the last of the miscellaneous supplies. The goal is to have all arms and other accesories assembled/gathered by Friday night. (I don't expect this will happen...it's Collin's job, so inevitably he will be working on it through the weekend -- he's a worse procrastinator than me.) As for me, I start gutting on Friday night and hopefully carving by Sunday evening.

But I digress... I'll be giving you pumpkin updates through the next week and a half, but how about some reading updates for now?

Now I'm off to distract myself briefly online before getting down to it and cracking a book.

  1. I'm so excited to see what you have planned for your pumpkin display this year! I'm terrible with carving-my kids are hosting a Halloween party this weekend for some friends, and we're going to use markers and stickers to decorate pumpkins, so I don't have to deal with carving, lol.

    1. It might kill me this year. This is the most carving we've ever done. 52 pumpkins to carve...some easy, some not so much. Fingers crossed that I finish everything on time. I start gutting on Saturday.
