2013 Summer Lovin' Read-a-Thon: Hound Dogs

Hmm...seems like I just did a post. That's what happens when you wait until late afternoon to do a post and then randomly pass out on the couch for a few hours. Oops. Blame it on the warm weather and my super comfy couch.

I'll be honest with you...the heat may have melted my brain slightly. I'm having trouble putting words together. So...if this post doesn't make much sense, blame mother nature. I'm doing my best here.

We're getting closer the big 24 hour marathon read. Darian and I are working to get together a plan for our day, including some yummy snacks. Second to the books, that's at the top of our list for importance.

A few days ago, we talked about the strong female characters we love. Now it's time for those bad boys. You're stuck with just me for this one. No Darian on this post. Wow, am I sorry about that. I'm telling you, it's rough over here. You should see how sad our dinner was tonight. I couldn't even put that together...it looked like I was back in college again. But...I digress.

I have to say, I'm either getting old or I'm just flipping tired. There's only one bad boy stuck in the front of my brain. I can't shake him and nothing else is popping up quite as well. Seriously? I can only come up with one character for this post? Even worse, I think that the only reason I can even come up with this one may be because I only recently read the last book in the series. I'm telling you...this heat...

So...who's my favorite bad boy? Well, he's not really all that bad...but I love him anyway...

Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.

Ah, dark and brooding Will. Yup, I love him. I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a bit of a crush on this character. The dark hair, the aloof attitude. I just loved him more and more as the series went on. Ya...Jem is the sensitive guy and I know the story kind of pushes you to want to feel for him, but...nah. Not my thing. I like Will. I've been a Will girl since day one. It's kind of like Twilight. Most were either Team Edward or Team Jacob. I was Team Will from the start, just like I was always Team Jacob. (I do concede that the story needed Edward to be the guy for Bella, but Rob Pattinson solidified that Edward is just not my type. Nope.)

I'm trying to come up with a name to go with a face. It's not going well. I have this picture of Will in my head, but I cannot for the life of me figure out who it was that I had in mind for my perfect pick to play him in the rumored upcoming movie.

Did you know about that by the way? Yes...City of Bones is slated to come out shortly, but a movie version of The Infernal Devices series is also supposedly in the works. Fantastic! All I know is, if they cast Zac Efron for this role I will beat my head against a wall. He's unfortunately the name coming to mind at the moment (gives you a slight idea of what I think wonderful Will should look like), but I can't stand him and all of his peppy, High School Musical bologna. Don't you dare wreck this for me Zac Efron!

Quit looking so darned smug.
Ah, this has taken on a mind of it's own. I think it's time to go back to reading...and maybe have a nice big glass of ice water. This delirium is getting out of hand. Thank goodness today's challenge post is very closely related! My summer fling also works out very well to be Mr. Herondale, thank you very much!

  1. I admit I had a difficult time coming up with someone because I'm not really into bad boys. I really need to read The Infernal Devices series! I've been wanting to read Clare and that series calls my name.

haha, prayer circle to have Zac Efron busy so he won't do the film.

  2. What a coincidence, I just picked up a copy of Clockwork Angel the other day! I haven't read the His Mortal Instruments series yet so I hope I can read Clockwork Angel first! :(

  4. We've got the same pick for one of your bad boys. Will Herondale is just awesome. But I did associate him with a younger Chris O' Donell.

  5. I still haven't read the Infernal Devices series (I haven't read Mortal Instruments yet either), Gah! There are so. many. books. to. read.

But hey, if Will is the Jacob of Infernal Devices, than I would have to say I will likely pick him too. I was Team Jacob from the very start, and like you, Rob Pattison sealed the yucky Edward factor for me. Not hot. Not even a little. Gimmee more Taylor Lautner!

Hmm...I think we're all getting a little sleep deprived. Thanks for sharing!!

  8. High School Musical bologna. Hahaha! I love that part. Zac Efron is totally a cutie. We should just keep in mind that High School Musical never happened. XD
