Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, created due to a fondness for lists. Each week they post a new Top Ten topic. After that, it's bloggers UNITE! Participate with your own Top Ten post, have fun, and get to know your fellow bloggers.
This week's topic is authors I REALLY want to meet. This one took some thinking.
I'm actually a pretty big introvert and I have social anxiety, so I don't do well in groups or with meeting strangers. Hence...internet. So...even if I were to meet the authors that I really love to read and think could be really interesting to meet face to face, I would more than likely crawl right inside of my shell and not say a word or be incredibly awkward and uncomfortable not knowing what to say or saying something that makes me sound like an idiot. Ya...I'm getting worked up just thinking about it. Aren't I fun?
So...for the sake of this list, let's just assume we're talking about authors I would like to hear a reading from or authors I would like to have sign my books. That's a little less pressure filled and I can totally do that.
Let's see who I wouldn't mind a friendly handshake from (or a milkshake with...that would be okay too...after maybe some Xanax).
In alphabetical order by last name (because I can't put these in 1-10 order...it just seems impossible).
1. Cassandra Clare
Her books are amazing and she has one incredible imagination. I would expect that any conversation with her would be fun and different.
3. John Green
4. Philippa Gregory
5. John Grisham
6. Stephen King
7. Jenny Lawson
8. E. Lockhart
9. Rainbow Rowell
10. J.K. Rowling
Those are my picks. I'm sure I have a couple that some will highly disagree on, but these are the ones that I would love to share space with (that sounds mildly creepy...).
How about you? What author tops your list?
