K is for Know

Welcome back for week 3 of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge! We've made it through ten letters so far.

I have a feeling that this might be my roughest week yet. Letters K through P are on deck and I still have one project in that batch that hasn't been completed. I worked on it earlier today, but got frustrated and walked away. Maybe tomorrow.

Today's project is for letter K. It's the Know When to Hold 'Em/Fold 'Em Laundry Room Sign that I made as a Christmas present for my friend Annie.

It's a pretty straightforward project, but it was primarily completed during winter evenings when there is squat for light, so my photos are a little lackluster this go round. There always has to be one project that gets a little photo uncooperative.

I started off by spraying down a piece of leftover shelving material with a couple of coats of white spray paint.

Once that was dry, I took to the craft room. I cut out my wording and pictures in adhesive vinyl using my Pazzle. I used transfer paper to help keep everything in straight lines and my sewing tape to help with side to side alignment.

Lettering went on first, followed by pictures.

Then it was back to the garage for a few coats of clearcoat. A couple of photo hooks on the back and this baby is ready to hang. Easy peasy.

Sometimes, I need a straightforward project. It makes up for the crazy pants ones like the one I was working on earlier today. Without them, I would totally lose my mind.

Miss any of my A to Z posts so far this year?

Tomorrow is letter L. It's a bit of a long one, but it's a handy skill that just about anyone can use. Have a great Monday!

    1. Oh my gosh...they are the best things ever invented. I love mine to death. I need to get a new cutting board though. After the years of work I've put it through, it's starting to look a little haggard.

  4. I love this idea. Who isn't looking for cute things to hang in your laundry room? It looks fun to make as well. I don't have a Pazzle though, so what to do instead to get the same results. Hmmm...

    1. The laundry room always seems to need a little spruce up, doesn't it? The Pazzle has some similar competitors out there in Cricut and Silhouette. If you're not wanting to buy a machine, you can order custom cut vinyl from some locations online and some of the more standardized pieces are sold in craft stores like Craft Warehouse and (I believe) Michael's and Hobby Lobby.

    1. Thanks, Sean! Annie's a country girl with an obsession for turquoise, so this seemed like the perfect fit for her.

    1. Thanks Cait! I agree...I have SO many signs pinned to my Pinterest boards. I have a lot I'd like to make. My house would be totally cluttered if I did everything I wanted to.
