Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, created due to a fondness for lists. Each week they post a new Top Ten topic. After that, it's bloggers UNITE! Participate with your own Top Ten post, have fun, and get to know your fellow bloggers.
My job got made pretty easy this week. The category is your top ten favorite reads from the last three years. Lucky for me, I track my favorites every year by doing my BOTY Bracket. So...putting this post together was really just a matter of robbing from the brackets. The tricky part came in putting them in order...
10. Divergent by Veronica Roth
9. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
7. City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
6. Secret Daughter by Shilpi Somaya Gowda
5. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
4. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
3. Just One Day by Gayle Forman
2. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
1. Let's Pretend this Never Happened by Jenny Lawson
Did any of your favorites make my list?
I've only read Divergent from your list, and you know how I ended up feeling about that series. :/ I'm going to look through my last 3 years of books (500+ books), we'll see if I can narrow it down. :)
ReplyDeleteYour job will be MUCH bigger than mine. You've read a lot of books.
DeleteI totally should have included The Infernal Devices books on my list, but I think I mentally lumped it in with the rest of Cassandra Clare's books that began releasing more than 5 years ago. I see it as one series. It's absolutely my favorite, though! I still need to read Thirteen Reasons Why, I don't know why I haven't. I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone! Great list!

I contemplated only picking one of Clare's books, but I just couldn't do it. I loved both series for different reasons. You definitely need to read Thirteen Reasons Why. It's one of only a handful of books that I can tell you with absolute certainty I will read again.
DeleteAwesome list! Divergent & Just One Day are so awesome. I read Thirteen Reasons Why but I didn't like it that much. I've been meaning to check out Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. They sound so awesome! I'm a new follower. :)

Thanks Krystianna! So glad you came over to visit and very excited to have you as a new follower! Thirteen Reasons Why just spoke to me. Who knows, maybe I was just in the right melancholy mood when I read it. :)
DeleteWow. I haven't read any of those--guess I better get busy. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, there are some good ones here, I promise. Out of all of these, I think you would probably like Daughter of Smoke and Bone the best.
