FrightFall: Wrap Up

So...I kind of fell asleep before posting this last night. Oops.

FrightFall has come and gone. It was probably one of the more relaxing read-a-thon's I've participated in over the last year. Quite nice. Now I get a little time off before revving back up for the Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-Thon hosted by Shelf Confessions (October 17th-27th) and Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-Thon (October 18th).

Back to FrightFall... *spoiler alert* I didn't quite make my goals, but I'm totally not bothered by it. Like I said, it was a super relaxing read-a-thon and made it even more enjoyable. It definitely didn't hurt that the book I'm reading is pretty awesome (Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor).

Yesterday's reading time was fairly minimal thanks to a few projects I undertook instead. I shredded the last of the zucchini for freezing and baked up two loaves of spice bread and two loaves of traditional zucchini bread. After that, I spent a few hours (yes, hours) chopping up peppers. I sliced, cored, julienned, and quartered the forty bells I got from Blue Barn Produce. We're all set for fajitas, stuffed peppers, Waikiki meatballs, and all other pepper-containing recipes for the next few months.

Now...let's talk books...

Elle's Final Stats

Yup. Still pretty awesome. I'm only a few pages from the end and I can already tell that this one will rank pretty high. A five-star rating is still possible, but it'll all depend on how the ending pans out.

I'm struggling with the words today. My brain just doesn't want to focus. So...I have no witty wrap up for this post. I totally feel like I'm blah, blah, blahing along.

This is all I've got... I read, I enjoyed, and now I need to get my can off the couch and do some crafting this week. I'm going to hit the Pinterest boards this afternoon to see if I can find something to jump start the creativity. Fingers crossed.

    1. I'm a big fan of the read-a-thons. If I was better organized and kept the projects going well enough around here I'd feel a little better about participating in SOOO many of them when this isn't just a book blog.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed the relaxed format. I've found I prefer it what with my busy life. I'm impressed with your cooking prep! Wow! I do a lot of cooking too, as I have two boys approaching the teen years. I'm also approaching my season of baking and I have crafting to do as well. First thing on the agenda is making my Christmas planner. I bought the supplies almost two weeks ago so need to get it done.

Hope you will consider joining me for the Christmas read-a-thon at the end of November. Would love to have you!

P.S. I have that book on my TBR. I've heard it's really good.

    1. I've been talking with Collin about more of the cooking prep. With our crazy schedules, we've decided that next time we do a big shopping run we might need to try and bag some pre-made slow cooker meals so that I don't always have to come home and figure out dinner. Oh...and the book? Super awesome. Read it.
