Outrageous October TBR

Alright...October. Apparently this is the month when all of the books are being published. My TBR is burgeoning this month, to the point where I am very loosely participating in any read-a-thons with prompts because there is NO ROOM for any additional books to be chosen. I have a lot to get through and just not enough days to get them all done...so here goes nothing!

Print Reads

1. Maternal Instinct by Rebecca Bowyer. I've actually already finished this book, but since it was an October read, I'm including it in this list. My review? It's a good dystopian and worth the read. You'll get more from me later.

2. Conclusion by Peter Robertson. This is also a dystopian read and I'm smack dab in the middle of it right now. It's a little odd, but intriguing.

3. My Crazy (Sick) Love by Drica Pinotti. After two heavy dystopians, it's time for a little something different. But lighter? That's the word. We'll see.

4. Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart. Another contemporary, but this one may wind up being more of a tearjerker. Let's hope my heart can handle it.

5. The Weaver by Heather Kindt. I'm looking forward to this dark sounding fantasy.

6. When the Moon Was Ours by Anna-Marie McLemore. Yes...this was on last month's TBR. And I did start it. But I had to set it aside so that I could finish my book club read. So, this month I'll be finishing up the second half. I'm enjoying it, though admittedly not as much as I liked her The Weight of Feathers.

7. The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. This is this month's book club read. Here's hoping that it goes better than last month's selection.

8. The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. Though it was on my TBR already, this book had to be shoehorned into this month's TBR because I'm an idiot. I requested a book...the next one...without realizing that it was the next book in the series.

9. Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris. And...here's the sequel. Though I've read that they don't necessarily have to be read in order, it seems that it would be better if I did. So, that's the way I'm doing it.

10. Postscript by Cecelia Ahern. Speaking of sequels, this is the sequel to P.S. I Love You. Because I need my heart ripped out all over again.

11. Gravemaidens by Kelly Coon. It's October, so a fantasy with a creepy sounding title? Yes, please.

12. Athena's Choice by Adam Boostrom. Creepy, you say? Yep. This one is a dystopian with some serious promise for creep factor.

Audiobooks

1. The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert. I'm about halfway though this book and it is creepily awesome. I am really loving it and I was thrilled to discover a couple of days ago that there is a sequel coming out in January.

2. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander (J.K. Rowling). This felt like a good choice for a fall read and the audio is done by Eddie Redmayne (Newt from the movie), so it should be great.

3. 5 Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott. Because there isn't enough heart-ripping-out included in the above list. (*facepalm*)

4. The Casquette Girls by Alys Arden. Magic, mystery, monsters, and New Orleans? Ya...this is a given for a Halloweentime read...well, listen.

It's a crazy pile (especially considering the most books I've read in a month thus far is 12), so we'll see how things go. Granted, a couple of the books are relatively short and there is that one book (When the Moon Was Ours) that I'm already halfway through. That makes it better, right? Well...I'm going to give it a whirl anyhow.

Let's do this, October!!
